Bering Sea Gold: Let the Games Begin, 03.04
The Coast Guard inspects the gold mining fleet, halting operations for some crews.
Among the unlucky, Hank’s mega dredge is boarded in harbor. The inspection is going well until diesel fuel begins leaking all over the deck while the Coast Guard is on board.
Coast Guard: “Well that’s a first…”
Once the fuel is cleaned up, Hank gets the all clear to resume operations. He heads out on the Tomcod claim to put some gold in the box, but when his first few test pans don’t reveal any gold, he decides to post up right next to the Christine Rose. Scott and other crew members feel that Hank is too impatient with his prospecting but they reluctantly do as he says.

Shawn takes the Christine Rose out on the Tomcod Claim to a spot with rich mineral deposits. He decides to map out the perimeter of his paystreak, performing test pans along each side.
After getting on some great gold, Shawn and his crew are upset that Hank has positioned the Au Grabber within their mining area. But after watching Hank move his mega dredge all over the Tomcod within minutes, Shawn begins to feel bad for him.
Shawn: It looks like Hank is floundering around like a dying salmon in the Bering Sea.”
Even after Hank moves in on the Christine Rose’s position, he still can’t get on Shawn’s paystreak.
Shawn: “Actually, I already dug that out, so fuck him!”

Vernon sends greenhorn Tony Mann down to do some prospecting, but after an hour of not finding any gold, Vernon moves the dredge to shallow waters along the edge of the public mining area. After seeing nothing but sand, his crew finds some promising cobble. While trying to back into place, the Wild Ranger won’t reverse. The eager divers are ready to get in the water despite the malfunction, but Vernon decides to head back to shore.
Emily makes a payment to Zeke and reflects on the hurt that he has caused her. On the water, the Coast Guard boards the Eroica. She is missing the proper safety equipment and is told to stop dredging immediately until she acquires a new fire extinguisher. She tells her divers to keep mining and heads into town for the necessary equipment.
Her crew is bringing in great gold, but they are boarded again, and Emily isn’t back yet. The Coast Guard tells her divers that they must cease operations until the proper equipment is installed. Emily gets back just in time with the fire extinguisher, and the Coast Guard gives the Eroica the all-clear.
Emily: “Now we are unstoppable, and nobody can shut us down!”
